People are often fascinated with the knowledge of how dates grow. Below are a few photos taken at SAM COBB FARMS showing a few of the cultural practices we employ throughout the year.
Date Palms nearing harvest. Each bunch is covered in order to keep birds, insects and rain away from the fruit. Therefore, our dates are grown PESTICIDE FREE!!!
Date Harvest. Sam Cobb displays ripening dates on a young palm. The white netted bag will
protect the dates from bird damage and rain while the fruit ripens. As the dates rippen, their color goes from green to yellow to brown.
